Okay, the word "NaNoWriMo" has been popping up on my flist for a while, and I have ignored it as I ignore all things I don't understand. :) But now people on my flist are saying that they're disappearing into NaNoWriMo, so I had to find out what the heck it is.

So, for the benefit of anyone as out-of-the-loop as me: it's National Novel Writing Month

It looks pretty neat. It's the kind of thing I'd having fun participating in, I think, if it weren't for having less spare time this year than I've ever had at any point in my entire life.

I once wrote a 65 000 word fic over the course of slightly less than three months. That's getting close to NaNoWriMo craziness - their goal is a 50 000 word novel in a month. So, yeah, sounds like fun! I am envious, and I wish you all well.

I have no idea who you are. That sounds sort of mean so sorry. I am not sure why I added you though and can not remember doing so but I wanted to say hi.

NaNoWriMo is tomorrow and I am participating. It is my first year and I'm hoping to get close to the goal.

Hee! Fair enough, I have no idea who some of the people on my flist are, either. Plus I haven't been posting all that actively of late.

You may have added me after seeing some of my Buffyverse fic? Or, y'know, added me accidentally when you meant to add someone else. :)

I usually remember why I added people though. It is just extremely puzzling to me.

I haven't even seen all of season 2 of Buffy yet. The only stuff I have been able to read in that fandom has been a few AU fics. Do you have any of those?

I wrote one S2 PWP featuring Spike, Angelus and Drusilla doing kinky things in a church. Does that ring a bell?

Otherwise everything I've written Buffywise is S6 or later.

I've also written some Once A Thief and That '70s Show stuff.

No, that doesn't sound familiar.

Are your fics easy to understand if I'm not familiar with all of the canon?

I don't read those fandoms.

This is really bothering me. You seem interesting though so I'm glad to have added you.

Aww, thanks. :)

Hm. Could you have meant to add someone else with a similar LJ name? Like [livejournal.com profile] shadowcast or [livejournal.com profile] shadowcat? Hee.

Are your fics easy to understand if I'm not familiar with all of the canon?

Probably not—particularly not if you want to avoid spoilers.

Otherwise, I guess it depends on your personal tolerance for not understanding every detail and reference. In particular, my Spike wouldn't make much sense to you at all if you only know S2 Spike.

I'm pretty sure I meant to add you. I could have just gone on an adding spree and you ended up there.

I don't mind spoilers too much. I read some fanfics with spoilers now and am only slightly confused. But it's more confused in the sense of "I wonder if this is canon or not". I'll have to check out some fo your stuff.
