Finding out what NaNoWriMo is.

shadowscastOkay, the word "NaNoWriMo" has been popping up on my flist for a while, and I have ignored it as I ignore all things I don't understand. :) But now people on my flist are saying that they're disappearing into NaNoWriMo, so I had to find out what the heck it is.
So, for the benefit of anyone as out-of-the-loop as me: it's National Novel Writing Month
It looks pretty neat. It's the kind of thing I'd having fun participating in, I think, if it weren't for having less spare time this year than I've ever had at any point in my entire life.
I once wrote a 65 000 word fic over the course of slightly less than three months. That's getting close to NaNoWriMo craziness - their goal is a 50 000 word novel in a month. So, yeah, sounds like fun! I am envious, and I wish you all well.
