I am on Dreamwidth, if only slightly!

Okay, I have a Dreamwidth journal. Yay! Same name as always: Shadowscast.
I really like what I've seen of Dreamwidth so far. I like their diversity statement, and how seriously they seem to take it. I like their plan to grow carefully, to stay ad-free, to be truly open-source. I like the careful, thoughtful way they seem to be going about making changes.
Perhaps I'm just a starry-eyed optimist! We shall see.
I'm planning to cross-post to LJ (starting from this entry) and to IJ (once I've got a paid account at Dreamwidth, which I plan to do). For now I won't be turning comments off anywhere, but I expect that sooner or later I will, at least for non-fic entries, because I am one of those people who wants to keep the conversation all in one place (that was always a thing that frustrated me about my split LJ/IJ flist).
But now here's the funny thing: I'll be leaving my circle entirely empty, at least for now!
I'm not adding anyone to my reading list, for now, because:
1) If you're also on my super-sekrit RL flist, then I'm reading you there.
2) (okay now the embarrassing truth comes out) If you're not on my RL flist, then probably I haven't read your journal since, like, forever ago! I'm sorry guys, I just don't have time! When the baby gets older I'll be back, I swear, and then, if this Dreamwidth thing is working out as nicely as I hope, I'll start adding you!
I'm not adding anyone to my access list, for now, because I have no plans to make any locked posts! Thus an access list would be rather redundant. If I ever do decide to lock some posts, then I'll have to look at why I'm doing that and who I want reading them. For now, please don't worry about not having "access": you're not missing a thing!
