I am pleased to announce that I've finished the DVD-style commentary track for Sock Puppet! You can enjoy my comments on the story and the writing process, [livejournal.com profile] yourlibrarian's additional insights, and bonus features including a missing scene and a page from my original writing notebook!

... Okay, that was my attempt to be all announcery. Heh. I will now blush, shuffle my feet, and give you the links!

I actually put the commentary for chapters 1-4 up on my website many months ago, so if you've already read that you might want to start at Chapter Five.

When I'm making a commentary track I always feel a bit weird about it, because I feel like it's a tremendously self-indulgent project, but I know I've enjoyed reading other authors' commentaries on their own fic—so I hope that someone out there enjoys this one!

Hmmm...you're raising the bar, and I'm totally going to have to move Sock Puppet up on my list of fics to read. Teasing, luring, tempting Shadowscast...*eyes you*.

I'll have to get back to this-- I remember reading "sockpuppet" for a fanfic competition and being very impressed then. I also write and enjoy these glimpses into the process of writing particular stories-- [livejournal.com profile] antennapedia calls them fic postmortems and I learned to do them from her.

I'm just popping in at the moment to say I just friended you (and left you some feedback on "It Never Happened.") Feel free to drop by my place and see what I'm about, too. I still feel like a new kid to Live Journal, though I've now been here just over a year. But I still always try to introduce myself when I friend somebody and tell them why. In your case, I want to read more. And I think a writer like you, who crafts things so well and is apparently thoughtful about the process would be a good influence on me.

Friend me back or not, as you like. If you do, I will warn you I am quite likely to leave unsolicited feedback. Often detailed. It's a bad habit.

In any event, I look forward to getting to know you better.

Hob

Hi there!

I've friended you back now. You'll see that my participation on LJ is very sporadic (though I do have a RL journal that I update more regularly). Anyway, when I am around, I'd like to get to know you, too! :)
