shadowscast: First Slayer shadow puppet (Spike anyoneseeme)
[personal profile] shadowscast
I'm feeling bad about never posting anymore, so I tried to write a Spike/Xander limerick. Xander rhymes with meander and slander. Duster rhymes with lustre. I couldn't make it work. Oh well!

I'm plugging away at my Fall for S/X piece. Ironically, this is leaving me with no time to read anybody else's Fall for S/X stuff. (Well, and RL is getting in the way somewhat too.)

I'm gaining much deeper appreciation for the WIP format (which I am notably not using for this fic). I've been working on the story for nearly three months now, and haven't posted a thing. Since writing always constituted my major involvement in fandom, I'm feeling kind of isolated now. Thank goodness for [livejournal.com profile] yourlibrarian, who's been beta-reading and giving me feedback as I go along—without her support I don't know if I would've managed to keep this up!

Of course, this is all my own fault for not being able to write something less than 20,000 words long. :P

Yes, but in the words of Spike, what rhymes with lungs? ;-)
I have so much respect for people who write brilliant fandom-related limericks. Brava for trying!

And I've much respect for your writing. Go you! I wish you continued luck with your story. We'll all have to give you loads of fb and praise when it's done to make up for the lack of in progress comments.

You're very sweet!

Speaking of which, I owe you feedback for the you-know-what! *g* Proper feedback in due time (when spare time and energy coincide, hopefully *before* December!) but anyway, for now just let me say thanks, and yay!

("Stung" kinda rhymes, but doesn't pluralize.)

I know exactly what you mean. I have one WIP currently 158,000 words and another story finished but not revised -and this has been going on for months.

Anyway, lovely to see you posting and looking forward to reading the story even if it's still a bit of a wait.

My mind boggles at the 158,000 word WIP. Wow!

Though, at least you're managing interesting meta posts periodically, thus avoiding fannish death!

Well, I don't work full-time trying to teach people something that is - to me - wholly incomprehensible.

Duster rhymes with lustre.
And fluster, cluster, and Augusta!
Cough.

Well, we'll all be glad to see it when it makes it out of the gate. Hope you're doing OK over there.

Duster doesn't rhyme with Augusta if you're American! (Or Canadian, for that matter, which is more to the point in my case.)

I'm doing quite well, really -- I like my job, it's just very busy. (Teaching college math.)

Perhaps it only rhymes in a Westcountry accent, then. *tries Irish brogue*
Yeah, I can see how that would get busy - if only you were teaching college slash fanfiction!

*imagines teaching college slash fanfiction*

It sounds like a good idea, until one realizes that grading term papers would be approximately like browsing Fanfiction.net.

I just wanted to let you know how much I've enjoyed your fic! I read London Calling two days ago, and have been hungrily gobbling up Fragments, and just finished your last installment. All that helpless spike stuff makes me weak in the knees for some reason, and I think your conceptualization of the S/X relationship is just lovely.

Also, I was so pleasently suprised to read that you are in Montreal, as I am as well, and have yet to come across a buffy fanfic writer in the flesh. It's lonely!

Funny, then that I have also delved into S/X, though I mostly write spuffy(or really wrote, as I don't have time to write so much anymore, and when I do I tend to write Lost fic). But I always, always am a sucker for sick!Spike. What is up with that anyway? Is it the "kiss it better complex" or something?

SOooo... thats me getting overly excited and maybe scaring you a bit. If you're interested in my s/x story (guaranteed to please, but a short incomplete mind you... ) it's here:

can't wait for you continue fragments! Great work!

Hey, it's lovely to hear from you! Thanks for the sweet feedback. :)

I can't read your story right now (right now I'm at work, and in a general "right now" sense I'm too busy writing to read) but I'll try to remember to follow up on that later!

And hey, if you wanna meet up someday, I wouldn't be averse. I have had the pleasure of meeting other Buffy writers in the flesh, and it's always been awesome.

I hope work and life are treating you better now. I miss the Fragments verse very much and I hope you will be able to add more to the story as and when you get more time.

Thanks! Life's pretty good at the moment, actually. And I'll be posting my Fall for S/X piece this Sunday; after that I'll be able to get back to the Fragments-verse!
