I'm not dead, just so you know!
Sep. 15th, 2004 09:52 pmHi flist! Like I said in my last post I'm stepping back from fandom due to the pressures of my new job (which I shall refer to as "teaching numerancy at Hogwarts," as a pleasingly apt metaphor). But I'm still keeping a toe in, especially to read a couple WIPs that I'm enjoying and "Angel: No Limits."
I'm ready to totally fangirl No Limits. Episode 6.1 felt wonderfully authentic. I wonder if people will start fanficcing it? That would be awesome.
Totally random musing (stuff that floated through my brain as I was walking to Hogwarts today): Did I ever share my theory that the Shanshu prophecy about the vampire with a soul becoming human actually referred to that time Angel got infected with a bit of weird demon blood, and turned human? I was totally convinced for a while that my theory was correct, and I couldn't understand why people on the show kept making such a big deal about that part of the prophecy when it had already been fulfilled, damn it, and Angel had done his back-in-time thing and gone on with his unlife. I mean, the prophecy as Wesley translated it had easily been fulfilled. Angel had already played a major role in several aborted apocalypses (including the one he nearly caused). And prophecies are supposed to be simply descriptive, right? At least that's always been my interpretation: prophecies don't make things happen, they just describe things that some prophet saw happening in the future (as though they had the ability to watch the 6:00 news from the future). So, the events that the prophecy described came to pass. End of story.
