How did I never, before this moment, notice this similarity?:
BtVS S6: Willow takes away some of Tara's memories to smooth away their fights. Accidentally gives everyone temporary amnesia. Offers to take away Buffy's memories of heaven and is soundly told no.
AtS S4/5: Angel takes away everyone's memories of the whole Connor arc.
We're always comparing the Connor thing to the Dawn thing, since the parallel is pretty obvious. But Willow got pretty firmly slapped on the wrist for messing with people's memories (well, maybe not as firmly as she should have; I think what she did to Tara was a pretty close equalilent to rape, and it was never dealt with as such); Angel never really seemed to consider that as an ethical problem, per se. Maybe just because it got lost in the many monstrously bigger ethical problems of taking over W&H?
