This is playing out beautifully. Looking forward to Spike getting healthy enough for them to him to shag Xander (but I'm glad it hasn't happened yet; I like your pacing) and going to Rome to see if there's a cure for Spike. It's just too ironic/cruel that Spike should Shanshu, then be sick for rest of his human life.
