Tell me I'm not the only one who does this.

Starts a fic. Writes a few paragraphs.

"No, this should be in present tense."

Goes back over what she just wrote, changing every verb.

"No, wait, past was better."

Goes back, changes every verb again.

"Wait, maybe this should be in first person...."

"oh, and if I did it from someone else's point of view?"

I've had things that started off present tense in my head, but because I don't really like present tense, I try and wrestle them into past.

Doesn't always work, though.
