Me: So, um, by the way, there's going to be a con for Buffy fanfic writers this summer in Atlanta....
Him: So you're going, right?
Me: Well, I really really want to! But it's far away and so expensive to get there and what if I have to work?
Him: You're a teacher. You probably won't be working in July, and even if you are, just tell them you need to go away that weekend. Anyway, I'm going to a 3-day gaming tournament in March. So it's only fair if you get to go to something, too.
Me: Eeek! Okay. Yay!!! Eeek!

So, um, what do I do now? Should I book a hotel room? Find a roommate? Join an email list? How does this work???
